Truth

The truth is not for sale
though many want to own it,
doomed they are to fail
for no one can control it.

The truth can never die
though many try to kill it,
all they do is lie
and loose the gift to feel it.

The truth is not concerned
with the knowledge of us mortals,
it’s been assigned to keep on hand
all the records and the totals.

The truth cannot detect
between a good deed and a crime,
nor away can it be kept
from the mighty test of time.

The truth cannot be bought
not even with a bribe,
own it you cannot
but you can certainly subscribe.
